Child safety standards
Birge is a service for finding housing and flatmates in Kazakhstan, from age 16. It is not meant for children, and we do not tolerate the sexual exploitation or abuse of minors in any form.
Zero tolerance. Content or behaviour that sexualises, exploits, endangers or abuses a minor is forbidden under the Terms, section 4. Such an account is blocked and such content is removed.
16 and over; people search 18 and over. You must be at least 16 years old to use Birge, and the age is given at sign-up. Users aged 16–17 do not see people search and are not shown in it.
How to report. In the app, open «Report» on a person's card, in their profile or in the chat, and choose the reason «Underage». The same «Report» is on every listing. A report on a person travels with a copy of the latest messages of the chat as evidence. Blocking a person hides them from you everywhere.
What we do. A moderator reviews a report and removes the violating content and blocks the violator within 24 hours. Several independent reports on one account put it on a review hold at once, before the moderator looks.
Authorities. Material depicting the sexual abuse of children is reported to the law-enforcement authorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and we preserve the evidence for them. We do not keep or pass such material around ourselves.
